2025 STEERING COMMITTEE LEADERSHIP

Hing (he/him) enters his first year as SF Chapter President and fifth overall with Project by Project. Previously, Hing worked his way up through Team and Leadership, learning all the ins and outs of the chapter logistics and leading membership experiences. Outside of PbP, Hing has work in student affairs higher education for 12 years, where his passion is supporting students to have a complete collegiate experience through identity and leadership development and intentional experiential learning experiences. As a Khmer transracial-transnational adoptee (TRA), Hing also spends time in the adoptee community advocating and amplifying adoptee narratives, particularly to ensure Asian adoptee voices are included in the Asian American conversation. This includes volunteering his time on the leadership team of the Asian Pacific Islander Knowledge Community (APIKC) within NASPA, Hing's professional association. In his free time, Hing enjoys global travel, freelance photography, spending time with his 18-year-old dach"son" named Buster, wedding planning with his fiancée, and is an aviation enthusiast.

Amanda is a UC San Diego graduate with a B.S. in Cognitive Science specifying in Design & Interaction and excited to return to her 2nd year in PbP. Her curiosity and creativity will lead her in taking on PbP's brand exposure and initiatives as Marketing Director for 2025. She considers herself a "jack-of-all-trades" delving into several different product experience roles primarily in the F&B industry. You can catch her whipping up new recipes in her kitchen, exploring remote areas with her dog, watching Architectural Digest, or painting something cheesy in her living room while she's off the clock.

Ingrid returns to Project by Project for her second year on the Fundraising team. She has always been passionate about uplifting people and communities. She volunteers at the SF LGBT Center and has led LGBTQ+ advocacy and DE&I work for many years. Ingrid is currently a Senior Product Manager at Amazon, building AI evaluation systems for Alexa. She previously worked in an early-stage startup and in strategy consulting. She holds a B.A. in Computer Science and Anthropology from Columbia University. In her spare time, you can catch Ingrid reading in cafes, climbing, doing yoga, and playing volleyball.

Jess holds a B.A. in English and M.S. in Technology Management, both from the University of California, Santa Barbara. By day, she’s a product marketer at Google; she focuses on Android’s physical safety features that help provide users with peace of mind (e.g., Car Crash Detection, Earthquake Alert System, Unknown Tracker Alerts, and much more).
True to her native Californian roots, you can catch her SCUBA diving the coastline or bending over backward in a hot yoga class in her free time.

Marisa joined PbP in 2023 with the goal of wanting to give back to the AAPI community that raised her and is excited to come back once again to help oversee all things EVENTS! Outside of PbP, she works as an HR consultant at PwC. When she's not drowning in PPT decks and Excel spreadsheets, you can find her binge-watching the latest K-drama, planning her next trip, hiking, or cheering for her hometown sports teams.

Back for his 3rd year of volunteering, Mark has the privilege of leading Team & Leadership with PbP, where his role is to foster a sense of belonging, build community, and help each and every chapter member grow in their roles. Originally from Honolulu, Hawai’i, he moved to the Bay Area 13 years ago and still feels lucky to be here. Some of his favorite local AAPI nonprofits in the Bay Area include previous PbP beneficiary partners KSW (Kearny Street Workshop) and the OACC (Oakland Asian Culture Center), and others, like GAPA (GLBTQ+ Asian Pacific Alliance), and of course, PbP.
Find him outside of PbP walking his way around San Francisco, attempting to cook recipes he found on Instagram, browsing at a local bookstore, or singing his heart out (poorly) at a concert!

Brandon joined Project by Project in 2023 on a mission to create positive impacts in the Bay Area community with a group of like-minded and ambitious leaders. He began as a Fundraising committee member and is now guiding the finances of the San Francisco chapter as Finance Director. Brandon graduated with an Economics degree from the University of California, Berkeley and built a career in corporate development and strategy. When he is not thinking of ways of helping the Asian community, Brandon enjoys trying new restaurants, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
STEERING COMMITTEE MEMBERS
EVENTS TEAM
The Events team oversees the planning and execution of all public events held by the San Francisco chapter throughout the year. The team ensures the chapter’s adherence to national goals and themes for events.

David joined PbP in February 2022 and was active throughout that year and in 2023. He then took a break in 2024 and is now very excited to return this year to continue to make a difference in Asian American community and build new relationships within the organization.
In previous years, he served as a Member on the Outreach Team and subsequently as a Program Manager on the Operations Team. During the day, David works as an HR Generalist at Ripple. In his spare time, he enjoys walking, hiking, playing golf, and especially playing basketball. He also loves creating travel itineraries and hopes to travel the world one day.

This is Walter's first year with PbP and he is excited to get involved in a organization that has a focus in supporting the community. Walter strives to make a positive impact in everything does. He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and has experience in consulting and tech. Outside of work he enjoys playing tennis, photography, and trying out new restaurants.

Wendy Vang-Roberts is a first-generation Hmong American from Minnesota with over a decade of experience in capacity-building roles within the non-profit sector. She is the Program Manager of Federal Strategies at Race Forward. Wendy serves on the board of the Antiracism Community of Transformation and previously chaired the working board of Asian American Organizing Project. She holds a B.S. in Business Management and a Master of Public and Nonprofit Administration from Metropolitan State University. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, eating street food, and spending time with her spunky senior dog.

A Bay Area resident and Project by Project alum, Chris is excited to return to PbP to serve the AAPI community as part of the Events team. Chris enjoys volunteering and developing meaningful connections with others. Outside of PbP, Chris works as a software engineer and enjoys spending time playing League and ice skating.

Donnie's journey spans continents, from his birth in Seoul to formative years in Tokyo and Copenhagen, ultimately landing him in California. After graduating from UCLA and UPenn, he had a brief stint as a project manager before pivoting to software engineering. Passionate about both uplifting the AAPI community and championing environmental causes, Donnie seeks to leverage his diverse background for positive impact. In his free time, he finds creative expression in crafting scented candles and enjoys the high-speed nature of badminton and soccer.

Jeremy joined PBP in 2025, fueled by a passion to make a positive impact in the AAPI community alongside ambitious, dedicated, and driven individuals. Born and raised in San Jose, Jeremy is a proud alumnus of Carnegie Mellon University. By day, he applies his skills as a software engineer, and by night, you can find him exploring the city, dinking on the pickleball court, and spending time with family and friends.

Kevin was born and raised in San Jose and went to De Anza and San Jose State University. Originally majoring in Social Behavior, he made the switch to Accounting in his second year. During the day, Kevin works as a Tax Accountant at PwC, specializing in partnership tax for venture capital firms. In his free time, Kevin enjoys playing video games, baking, trying new coffee shops, and going for runs. He is very excited to be working with all the wonderful people here at PbP!

Starlee is excited for his first year in PbP! Reigning from Southern California and having spent almost his entire life there, Starlee ventured out to San Francisco in search of new experiences. Having a strong AAPI community at home, Starlee is looking to give back and develop his roots in the greater San Francisco area. In his free time, you can catch Starlee cooking new meals, strolling around the city, or playing board games with his friends!

First time joining PbP and looking forward to making connections and overall learning more about how we can collectively do more for ourselves and our variety of communities. Whenever I'm free, I sleep extensively or try to catch up on my backlog of to-do manga, books, or games I say I'll get to eventually.
FUNDRAISING TEAM
The Fundraising team is responsible for all revenue generating initiatives via local outreach to corporations, individuals, and public entities. Fundraising maintains records and databases of all contacts, relationship logs, and inputs the data into the national database.

After moving from New York to the Bay Area, I started looking for ways to get back into service. Helping others has always been a big part of my life. I’ve led service initiatives at many organizations, including Moody’s CSR, Alpha Phi Omega, and Project Hope, and I’m excited to bring my experience and Asian American identity to support and empower the AAPI community through PbP. Outside of service, I lead product design at startups, watch anime, and play pickleball. Looking forward to meeting you all!

Jiwon joined Project by Project as part of the Marketing Team in 2024 and now serves as the Manager of Sponsorships in Fundraising. She has over five years of experience in the life sciences, specializing in clinical program management, decentralized clinical trials, and streamlining clinical operations. She is passionate about advancing health equity and ensuring diversity is a core consideration in clinical trial design. In her free time, Jiwon enjoys golfing with friends, exploring new restaurants, and finding ways to bring people together.

Hey everyone! My name is Jasper and I'm a Bay Area native, excited to give back to the community I grew up in. I work as an engineer at the SFMTA, trying my best to make San Francisco streets safer and faster to travel through. Outside of work, I enjoy exercising, trying new recipes, going to concerts, and encouraging people to pay their MUNI fare!

Born in Guam and raised in LA, Joren moved up to the Bay Area (South San Francisco) in 2022 to get his Master's in Data Science from the University of San Francisco. Joren joined Project by Project SF to get back into volunteering with like-minded individuals after handling his own volunteer events with various clubs back in undergrad at University of California, San Diego, and to also learn more about prevalent societal issues affecting the Asian American community.
In his spare time, Joren loves to travel, cook, hike, take dance classes (K-pop and hip hop), play video and board games, play piano (whenever there is access to a keyboard), try new restaurants and bars, and recently joined a run club in hopes of improving his personal health.

Having recently moved from Canada to SF, Michael is joining PbP for the first time after being a general volunteer last year. He currently works at Vector Capital as a Private Equity Associate and was previously a Management Consultant. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking and planning trips he swears will happen next year.
MARKETING TEAM
The Marketing team develops marketing strategies for the local team on all initiatives, including publicity campaigns and promotional strategies, and is responsible for producing all marketing collateral, info packets, flyers, invitations, correspondence, email, newsletters, and graphics.

Andrew is joining Project by Project this year as the Manager of Marketing Strategy & Content, bringing his expertise to support and elevate the AAPI community. He is a proud Bay Area native with a professional background in digital marketing. In his free time, you can find him capturing moments with his camera, experimenting with new baking recipes, and hitting the bowling lanes for some friendly competition.

Michelle began volunteering with PbP SF's Creative Team in 2023 after returning to the Bay Area after college. She is passionate about uplifting and elevating stories within the Asian/Asian American community and is excited to be returning for her second year as the Marketing Creative Manager. In her free time, she enjoys visiting new cafes and restaurants, bingeing the latest TV shows and movies, playing games with friends, and trying to make new matcha and coffee drinks at home!

Benjamin is excited to be joining Project by Project's Steering Committee. Born and raised in Silicon Valley, he knows how unique the Bay Area is and looks forward to utilizing the region's resources to achieve PbP's mission of developing leaders that engage in social issues that impact the local AAPI community.
For work, Benjamin provides support for Android developers looking to build their businesses on Google Play. During his free time, Benjamin likes to eat good food with friends, watch sports and TV, and play the New York Times and LinkedIn games. -
Hayley is a Seattle area native who moved to the Bay Area summer of 2024. She currently works as a project manager for a healthcare organization. In her free time, she stays active by playing volleyball and hiking. She also enjoys exploring new cafes with friends and is always on the lookout for the best matcha spots. As a new member of PbP, Hayley is excited to learn and grow alongside her team while empowering the greater AAPI community.

Matthew is a graduate from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri with a B.A. in Psychological and Brain Sciences with several years of product management & marketing experience. You can catch him at the gym powerlifting, studying languages, or building the next blockchain layer 1. When he has time outside of the gym, he loves golf, surfing, and meeting new people!

Samantha is a UX designer and a San Francisco native. She is a recent graduate from UCSD with a B.S. in Cognitive Science (Design and Interaction) with a lifelong passion for volunteer work. This is her first year in PbP and she is excited to give back to the community using her design skills as a Creative Team member. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, playing video games, bouldering, and making matcha lattes.

Sid is a mental health professional with a passion for giving back to his community and being generous to others. He wants to showcase the AAPI community in a positive light and uplift his fellow Asian Americans. He is also a streetwear enthusiast, a hooper on the side, and a former competitive choreography dancer.
OUTREACH TEAM
The Outreach team is the main liaison between PbP and other community-based organizations on the local level. Outreach oversees and manages local campaigns and relationships with beneficiary partners (both current and past) and ensures adherence to PbP’s policies regarding the partner.

Celine comes from a multicultural background with Cantonese and Latin roots. She loves hearing stories from people of all backgrounds and enjoys serendipitous encounters. Professionally, she’s worked in healthcare-health tech in the past and is currently working in the non-profit space.
Celine hopes to grow more roots in San Francisco by investing her heart into the local Bay Area communities.
In her adventure time, you can find Celine dancing, biking, exploring the outdoors, chasing sunshine, traveling locally-globally, or spending quality time (typically food related) with friends & family! -
Joyce is a SoCal native and first joined PBP LA in 2024. She moved to SF this year to try living in a new city and is excited to explore! During the day, she works on the Enterprise Strategy Business Development team at Kaiser Permanente. She is passionate about mental health and healthcare access. Outside of work she likes picnicking, finding cute coffee shops, arts and crafts, concerts, and eating sweets.

Originally from the suburbs of Chicago, Adel has been in the Bay Area for almost 4 years after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania. During the workday she is a Growth and Community Lead at Reducto, but outside of work is an avid dancer, freelance artist/designer, and Yelp Elite! Adel is thrilled to join PbP for the second time in order to find and create community who cares about AAPI advocacy and philanthropy, as well as get hands-on experience with the Outreach Team to create sustainable relationships with local vendors.

I’m an aspiring healthcare provider passionate about advancing my education and making healthcare more accessible to underserved communities. I’m always up for spontaneous hangouts with friends, bringing people together, and making every experience memorable.

Having spent his childhood in Hong Kong, Benji is a proud city boy who loves exploring the social fabric of urban environments. He joined PbP to hone his professional skills and to uplift under-resourced communities.
A civil servant based in the San Francisco, he spends his days disbursing welfare to the city’s most impoverished and vulnerable populations and helps them get back on their feet. When he’s off the clock, Benji loves flânuering across the diverse neighborhoods of the city and is an amateur cartographer and birdwatcher. -
Donna is excited to return for her second year at Project by Project as a member of the Outreach Team, helping to foster connections and strengthen community impact. She holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley and brings experience in defense innovation consulting and program management. She currently works as a Customer Success Manager at SAP, supporting organizations on their HR strategy. Outside of PbP, Donna enjoys exploring farmers' markets, perfecting home café recipes, and discovering new restaurants.
TEAM & LEADERSHIP
The Team & Leadership team serves as the Human Resources division of Project by Project. The team focuses on enriching the Project by Project experience for our Steering Committee members by both organizing team building events and instituting leadership development programs.

Back for his second year of PbP, Calvin is retaking the role of Manger of Team Development and Internal Ops. Originally from San Jose, he moved to San Francisco post leaving Seattle after 5 years.

Kolena is so very excited to be joining the PbP family!
Hailing from Seattle, she moved to the Bay Area in 2020 to pursue her Master of Public Health and fell in love with California. She is passionate about improving the health outcomes of immigrant, at-risk, and underserved communities.
Outside of work, Kolena loves traveling and going outside to hike, backpack, and explore the vibrant neighborhoods of the Bay! -
William is a Los Angeles native who's now joining his second year with PbP in San Francisco. Holding a degree in Business Admin from USC, William has transitioned into the corporate world as a consultant, specializing in the life sciences sector. Outside of his professional pursuits, he enjoys staying active, whipping up gourmet meals, and exploring the vibrant city scene!

Anna is excited to be back in PbP for her third year! She loves yoga, reading, and cafe-bumming, and she’s always up for an outdoor adventure — hiking, camping, or backpacking. Lately, she’s been taking tennis lessons and would love to find new people to play with. A huge animal lover, she’s happiest when surrounded by dogs ૮ˆﻌˆა. She’s always up for new experiences and considers herself a bit of a low-key adrenaline junkie. She’s looking forward to getting more involved, giving back to the community, and making a bigger impact through volunteering.

Nathaniel is a member of the Team and Leadership Team with Project by Project returning for his second year. Nathaniel grew up in San Jose and graduated in with a degree in Computer Science before working for several years at a community tech education nonprofit in East Palo Alto. Since then, he has worked as a Computer Science Curriculum Developer at Khan Academy, as a Technical Assessment Developer at Karat, and as an Instructional Designer at Rize Education. In his free time, Nathaniel enjoys playing and watching soccer, cooking and trying new foods, and spending time with friends.

As a proud native of San Francisco, Sam is committed to giving back to the community that has shaped him. Through his involvement with PbP, he seeks to make a positive impact and contribute to the betterment of the community that has been instrumental in his upbringing. Sam graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo with a degree in Business. He began his career in consulting and has since worked in crypto/tech industries. Outside of work, Sam finds joy in rock climbing, camping, and cherishing moments with his loved ones

Hello, I'm Terence! I joined Project by Project in 2024 as a Fundraising Manager and am now excited to be on Team & Leadership as an Alumni Relations Team Member. I'm originally from New Jersey and moved to San Francisco in 2021 after getting my MBA at UCLA. I currently work at Google in Product Strategy for Search. Outside of work, I like to stay active playing basketball, tennis, pickleball, golf, or snowboarding (Ikon Pass!!). I'm excited to give back to the AAPI community and work with the rest of PbP!
